Introduction The training mission to Belarus took place on 21-25 June, 2010 in Minsk at the Belarusian State Veterinary Centre in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. The training mission to Belarus was the second in the series to take place.
At present, Belarus is a HPAI free country; however, it is considered a high‐risk country because of its shared borders with Ukraine and Russia. As outbreaks have recently occurred in neighbouring countries, there is great potential for an outbreak of HPAI in Belarus. Fellow Eastern European countries Russia, Romania, and Ukraine have some of the highest numbers of outbreaks.
