Introduction
The training mission to Egypt, 19 October - 6 November 2008, was the second of the sustained trainings and was delivered by two international experts over a period of 3 weeks.

Training Location and Dates
The technical assistance mission consisted of two training courses. The trainings were held in Dokki, Cairo at the General Organization of Veterinary Services’ training facilities. Each training session ran for a total of seven days.

  • 19-27 October 2008 (with a weekend break on 24-25 October)
  • 29 October – 4 November, 2008

Participants
The trainees were all General Organization of Veterinary Services (GOVS) staff, most of whom had a high level of management responsibility at the governorate level. A total of 39 participants benefited from training programme. In each of the 2 workshops organised; between 18-21 participants were in attendance. Most trainees for these were governorate level veterinarians however also in attendance were an epidemiologist and GOVS central office members from the poultry department.

Experts
The technical content of the training was delivered by Mr. Harm Kiezebrink and Dr. Andrea Miles.
