Introduction The training mission to Bangladesh, 16-30 November 2008, was the third of the sustained trainings. It was delivered as a joint initiative with the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) over the period of 2 weeks. The training was delivered in three different locations; twice in Dhaka, and once in both Rangpur and Chittagong for veterinary professionals in both the public and private sectors.

Training Location and Dates The technical assistance mission consisted of four training courses of three days. The trainings were held twice in Dhaka, at the BRAC training centre, once in Rangpur in the North and once in Chittagong in the Southwest of the country.
- November 16-18, 2008 in Dhaka
- November 20-22, 2008 in Rangpur
- November 24-26, 2008 in Dhaka
- November 28-30, 2008 in Chittagong
Participants A total of 80 DLS participants benefited from the training programme developed and planned under the activity. The final trainees were government Department of Livestock Services (DLS) veterinarians, most of who had high level of management responsibility at the upazila and district levels. Added value was gained through the participation of 20 private sector operators (farmers and veterinarians). In each of the 4 sessions organised there were 25 participants in attendance.
Experts The technical content was delivered by Dr. Yonatan Segal on behalf of DEVELOPMENT Solutions Ltd. and Dr. Dubravka Selenic from the FAO.
