Welcome to the website for the "Training workshops and training assistance missions to improve control of Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu (HPAI) and other animal diseases". The project is funded by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) and falls under the “Better Training for Safer Food” initiative. The consortium implementing the project is made up by DEVELOPMENT Solutions Ltd. and DIANOVA Ltd. – DTU (Technical University of Denmark). The project’s specific objective is to ensure that stakeholders involved in animal disease control in countries trading with the EU are properly informed and trained to develop efficient strategies for control of HPAI as well as other zoonoses, including Foot and Mouth Disease. The project will target thirteen countries: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, West Bank and Gaza, Russia, and China. As part of the initiative to build up the capacity to combat avian influenza, the project will deliver four laboratory workshops in Denmark as well as thirteen technical assistance (TA) missions in the target countries through a team of experts who are able to cover an in-depth and wide range of specific technical issues, both theoretical and practical. For a timetable of the activities please follow the training activities link on the sidebar. The following pages provide details on the project activities, about the implementing consortium, project documentation, relevant links, and include an E-learning portal, aimed at providing beneficiaries with adequate preparation, compiled useful information and exercises and a platform for distance interaction with the trainers before and after the completion of training activities. |
